Childrens Outpatient Services:
Individual Therapy - CBHC recognizes developmental considerations in children who need a unique experience from adults when participating in individual therapy. Therapists use play therapy, bibliotherapy, role plays, therapeutic games, art and a variety of other resources available in order to meet the needs of the individual child and the presenting issue. Treatment is one-on-one with a therapist that works in the context of brief solution-focused treatment on specific goals. The therapist and client will decide on a case by case basis the number of sessions needed and how often to meet with the therapists. Most often individual therapy with children is paired with Family Therapy.
Family Therapy -– CBHC recognizes the importance of parents and the influence they have on their children. In addition, family therapy respects the complex interlocking relationships inherent in a family and understands the great influence this dynamic system has on an individual’s functioning. Therapist’s work to help parents understand their child’s behavior and empower them to substitute more effective ways to achieve desired results.
Group Therapy - CBHC offers group therapy for presenting issues that are better suited for treatment in this context. Group therapy offers the client the unique experience that they are “not alone” in their problem. In addition, group therapy can help develop positive support systems and provide a safe environment in which to test and build skills.
